I got married on Kauai and it was beautiful. The whole island has been run over by chickens (at least at that time it was. That was almost 19 years ago). The roosters start crowing around 4 or 5 in the morning and pretty soon all you can hear across the whole island is roosters crowing. That wasn’t in any of the travel books my husband and I studied before we went. Lol!
Yes! I’m not kidding. I was really shocked but I guess there was a hurricane (I can’t remember which one) that destroyed all the chicken coops, and the chickens have been running wild on the island since then. You see them on the sides of the roads and in the parking lots. It’s so funny. I guess people have tried to catch them and put them back in coops, but the chickens are not having it. Lol! I guess they’re very hard to catch. 🙂
